Health & Wellness is Paramount
Southside Health & Wellness Centre
The health and wellness of our members is paramount to Nee Tahi Buhn and in 2003, the Southside Health & Wellness Centre was opened to service Nee Tahi Buhn, Skin Tyee and Cheslatta First Nations, and the entire Southside population. Supported by Carrier Sekani Family Services and Northern Health, the Nee Tahi Buhn health department helps all three Nations get health patients to and from appointments on time.
The health department has a vast and important role with Nee Tahi Buhn, helping with an array of health related services in emergencies and also general services to ensure the well-being of our members. Some of these general services include securing air conditioning units, air purifiers, and ensuring required hotels stays and meals are secured to support medical visits.
Our health department also helps plan events and ceremonies for Band members to heal though language and culture. Rides can be arranged for pow wows and other cultural sharing events throughout the Province with a focus on Elders and youth.
